A yoga practitioner for 25 years, Katie added mindfulness and body scanning to her personal practice on the advice of a neuropsychologist, during a difficult time of caring for two young children and a husband who was recovering from a car accident.
Katie qualified as a yoga teacher in October 2013 with YogaWorks. This included study of the yoga sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and Ayurveda. In July 2020 she completed her Yoga Therapy training with Real Yoga. She began studying Essential Oils with The Natural Approach School in 2019 and qualified as an Essential Oil Practitioner in April 2021.
Before discovering yoga, Katie worked as a PA/secretary in London and Holland (where her first child was born). The family moved to Kenya where she had a second daughter. She home-schooled her children and worked part-time as a Montessori teacher. Katie returned to England in 2013, and lives in Cheltenham with her family, two cats and many fish.
Katie enjoys her ballet and piano lessons, reading, walking, knitting and rowing, as well as spending time in Crete where she swims in the sea, walks in the mountains and rides horses.
